According to their Twitter feed posted on January 23rd, we can expect a Beta Test announcement within the next 60 days.

On the Mechwarrior Online forums, you can now have an avatar by choosing your allegiance. Simply go your profile, and mouse over your icon in the upper left to see "Select Allegiance Icon."  Also there is a new Developer Q and A, which you can find at the following link:

This is somewhat old news at this point, but in case you have not seen yet, Piranha has officially announced that the Dragon will for sure be in Mechwarrior Online.  This is in addition to the already released Jenner, Hunchback, and Atlas.  You can read their full release at http://mwomercs.com/news/2011/11/30-battlemech-4-dragon.
